Such artificial intelligence opens up new possibilities in creative search, and the chef of the restaurant CAAA Pietro Catalano is vivid proof. The futuristic interior of the establishment was designed by the studio External Reference from Barcelona. They used Midjourney as a means of visualization, the authors of the project saved hours on creating sketches and found new unexpected ideas for implementation.
Architect Carmelo Zapulla asked the AI to work with images of “snowy roofs” and “mountain landscapes,” and this is seen in the final concept. The project's spectacular panels that flow from the walls to the ceiling were 3D printed at the Lamáquina studio. They are made from a cellulose-based material, a more environmentally friendly alternative to polymers. It is completely biodegradable and recyclable. The entire structure consists of 63 panels measuring 80 by 80 cm, which were assembled on-site like a puzzle.
The interior is complemented by ash and steel furniture with sculptural forms. Thoughtful lighting helps create the atmosphere of a fairy-tale forest and snowy landscapes, and smooth marble picks up and reflects the glare. Behind the bar is an open kitchen where Catalano works with fermentation: the menu is dominated by local products - fruits, local cheese, and truffle, which once again demonstrates the chef's commitment to sustainable practices and experimental research.
