This small building is a new project by BAUS, which has been producing mirror modular homes for outdoor recreation since 2019. The mirror module practically merges with the surrounding landscape - a secluded forest and a river in the depths of one of the oldest resort regions of Russia - in the Caucasian Mineral Waters.
"Photogenic BAUS cubes with an area of only 20 square meters are already installed in the ski resorts of Arkhyz and Elbrus, on the Kola Peninsula and in Siberia, near St. Petersburg and Pyatigorsk," say BAUS co-founders Vladimir Klimenko and Tatyana Baeva. "To create the interior of the first 'baus', we brought in Valery Lizunov and Ekaterina Ageeva from the Moscow-based Archpoint bureau. But we designed and furnished this house ourselves, in tandem with the customer."
"The customer set us the task of moving away from the "triangle" or chalet concept - popular solutions for guest houses in the North Caucasus. The interior of the house should not distract from the main thing - unity with nature, and the solutions needed to be simple but functional."
"This house is a new family model, which can accommodate not two, but four people. In a small area, we planned a living room area with a "floating kitchen", a bedroom, and a bathroom. Half of the walls are made of tempered energy-efficient glass with a mirror coating."
"We meticulously chose the color scheme together with the client. It turned out stylish, but the new house acquired a special character when we brought art here."
"Our mission is to take the quality of outdoor recreation to a new level. We are about awareness, freedom, the ability to immerse yourself in yourself and observe. At the same time, we pay great attention to the functionality of solutions. For example, all BAUS mirror houses have an exhaust ventilation system using slot diffusers. The bed has a premium-class orthopedic mattress, the TV projector can be controlled from anywhere in the house, and at night, soft touch lighting on the floor turns on. Even the mosquito net is custom-made and looks like an art object."
