The blue color in the interior is associated with calmness; it is believed that it helps to relax and relieve tension. An ideal choice for a weekend apartment, as in the project of designer Shushanik Sargsyan.
The customer is a young woman who lives with her family outside the city. She needed an apartment where she could spend the night if she didn’t want to drive home through traffic jams. The interior had to be comfortable for living - with a living room area and a kitchen, and always with a window in the bedroom. All this had to be placed on an area of 33 square meters it is quite a small apartment.
The apartments are located in the Slava residential complex on Belorusskaya. The developer rented them out in a white-box finish - without walls, but with electrical outlets. Its main advantage is large floor-to-ceiling windows. The disadvantage is a small bathroom with an area of three square meters. meters. “This project is exactly the case when, without exaggeration, we can say “every millimeter counts here,” says the designer. “So we tore everything down and built it again.” Walls were erected in the kitchen to accommodate furniture and a functional cooking area, and the bedroom area was separated by a glass partition. The layout turned out to be excellent, it’s comfortable to stay in the apartment, and everything is at hand. Ventilation and air conditioning are provided, so that comfortable air is ensured. A smart home is also provided, but in a light version.”
Shushanik considers the glass partition one of the most successful solutions in this project - it preserves the feeling of airiness and lightness, adding coziness to the bedroom. The degree of privacy can be adjusted - the curtains at the partition can be pulled out on all sides, so it is easy to change the lighting scenarios in the apartment, for example, by letting light into the kitchen from the bedroom or vice versa - into the bedroom from the living room. The designer is also pleased with the arrangement of the bathroom - it was possible to place a full-fledged shower room with shelves there. This was achieved thanks to the sink made of stone: it is comfortable and deep, although small.
“I wanted to use a color-blocking effect here,” says the designer about the color scheme. “I showed the customer the shade options, and we settled on a complex blue, which was quite bold. I wanted to make the bedroom as dark as possible, so both the walls and the ceiling were painted. At first, the customer was wary of the idea, but she really liked the result. Once, during renovations, she said: “I’ll have an apartment like Carrie Bradshaw’s - I’ll also come here when I want to be alone.”
Due to the small area, all furniture was sought to be small-sized. The choice was limited by the customer’s request - to use items from stock or from local manufacturers, so as not to wait for four months. As a result, a Delo Design sofa, a Unika Møblar dining table and chairs, J-Uno carpentry, a Stilnovo lamp over the table (“Lamps” on Malaya Ordynka), a Flos kitchen lamp, Artique Casadeco wallpaper, a blanket and decorative pillows enere.it appeared here , Amalia Home Collection bed linen, L'appartement decor, Modenature, Dovlet House carpet. The living room is decorated with the painting Femme 7-8 by Elena Umutbaeva, and the dining table area is decorated with the work “Duality 1” by Tatyana Nega.
