British studio Zaha Hadid Architects is designing a yacht club and nightclub with a casino in the Bahamas as part of the development of Habacoa, the largest superyacht marina in North America. Around the complex, which is planned to be completed by 2027, there are 150 parking spaces for ships and 250 private residences.
The two-story yacht club, which sits prominently at the entrance to the harbour, will consist of two glazed structures connected by a twisted concrete roof. “Yacht club with an area of 2323 sq. meters will become an architectural landmark that can be seen on the horizon, say the developers. “The shape of its roof resembles waves, allowing the cooling sea breeze to penetrate into the building.”
The nightclub, also two-story, consists almost entirely of glass walls and has a roof terrace. Near the casino with a gaming room, which will occupy 464 sq. meters, five additional glass pavilions were installed.
The design of the nightclub and casino was inspired by the sea. According to the developer, these buildings will become the “social epicenter” of the development. The complex will also include a concert venue, a spa, a water park, and numerous shops and restaurants.
Zaha Hadid Architects is one of the world's most renowned architecture studios. The studio is currently designing a complex of hydrogen refueling stations for Italian marinas and a promenade in Oman.
